While touring "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge", each member of MCR wore their "Circle of Fire" symbol on an armband around
their left arm. Being an important piece to this costume, I have found one way to sew the armband, and three different ways
to decorate the armband.
Making the Armband:
To start the armband, you need plain black fabric (I used an old T-Shirt), a measuring tape, and white chalk. The armband
will be aprox. 12" long x 4" wide, leaving room for hems, and varying depending on your arm's size. Use the chalk and measuring
tape to draw guilines onto the fabric, and cut it out.
Cut out six pieces of black ribbon of equal sizes to tie the armband sides together. Fold down the 12" long sides slightly and
add a ribbon on each end, and sew them on, so there are four ribbons on the armband. Next, sew one ribbon in the middle of
each of the four inch sides, and then hem the 4" sides folding the ribbon back.
Decorating the Armband:
The design on the armband looks like this:
1. One way to apply this design is to use Iron-on Transfer Paper, which is avalible at office supply stores. Purchase
transfer paper made for dark fabrics, and follow the instructions on the package.
2. A second way to get this design is embroidery. Learn how to embroider here:
3. One last way to get this design on the armband is to use fabric paints. Don't use fabric markers, seeing as the armband
is a dark color. Fabric paints are avalible in craft stores, and stores such as Wal-mart.
